Queen Bess. Brave Bessie. Aviatrix extraordinaire. First African American person - male or female - to obtain an international pilots license. Period. Need we say more? This week we are talking all about one of the pioneers of women in aviation - Bessie Coleman. She’s known today as someone who never took no for an answer and kept pursuing her dreams of flying high in the sky. All while standing up against racial segregation.
